Gado-Gado Surabaya Salad Recipe (for 2 servings)
Gado-Gado is a typical Indonesian dish that is found in almost every region. Uniquely, the Gado-Gado seasoning in each region has its own version. There are Betawi gado-gado, Surabaya gado-gado, Malang gado-gado, and many others.
Well, this time I will share a typical Surabaya Gado-Gado recipe that I got from a trusted source directly from the maker. The hallmark of Gado-Gado Surabaya is the presence of carrots and tomatoes. The presence of these two elements gives it a unique taste. In addition, the characteristics of the peanut sauce or peanut sauce in Surabaya's gado-gado are more watery than the variety of Gado-Gado in other parts of Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Malang, and other areas.
In addition to the two characteristics above, Surabaya's Gado-Gado also has a rather spicy sensation when compared to other regional Gado-Gado which tend to be savory and sweet.
